ChrisCI wanna be Anakin, or Spiderman, or Princess Fiona?

Who would you love to be? Haven’t we all watched a film and thought ‘wow, if only I could do that, or say that to the boss, or get her phone number, then how good would life be?’
With our radio show being called I’ve got a bad feeling about this, it’s evident enough that we are film fans. As The Jazzman often mumbles earnestly, “everything I’ve ever learnt in life has come from films.”
And so, as our final show was settling in the dust, we stumbled across the following question: if we ever had the chance - which film character would we like to become? The genie has emerged out of the bottle, and has offered us all the chance to be a person, any one person, from a film…So who’s it going to be?
We went straight for the classics to get the ball rolling. As blokes we reckoned that Spiderman would rock, Obi-wan would roll, and the Sammy L “walk the Earth” Pulp Fiction guy would be too cool.
I’ll have to admit it was a bit of a struggle to come up with a female perspective on this one. We figured that girls would love to be Princess Leia, or Princess Fiona from Shrek - so long as they don’t have a problem being big and green. Other than the princesses though, who else do the ladies fantasize about becoming? Bridget Jones? Nicole Kidman from The Others? Cadet Hooks from Police Academy?
As a community radio duo, we would like to think of ourselves as something like The Three Amigos (except there are only two of us), or maybe Larry, Curly and Moe (except again, there are only the two of us). Unfortunately it’s probably fair to say that we come across as more like either Leo Di Caprio from Titanic (we sank without a trace) or Keifer Sutherland from The Lost Boys (we suck the big ones).
In conclusion, the ultimate winner for us, the one character either of us would be if we could, is Anakin Skywalker. Of course that would come with a fair sized clause. The genie would have to promise it would be the Anakin before he was sliced and diced and therefore - without limbs - became a human finger puppet for Palpatine.
Anakin around the end of Attack of the Clones or the start of Revenge of the Sith. Just imagine: you’re tops with a lightsaber, you fly, all expenses paid, right around the universe and you’ve got all the powers of a Jedi, but – unlike the rest of them suckers – you have secretly scored Natalie Portman! Could life get any better?
As an afterthought, if The Jazzman became Anakin, I would be tempted to ask the genie to make me Superman. I’d then challenge Anakin to a massive fight to find out once and for all who would actually win. A lightsaber versus a man of steel. Now that’s a fight in a Thunderdome I’d really like to see.
