Meredith: As doctors we’re trained to be skeptical because our patients lie to us all the time. The rule is every patient is a liar until proven honest.
Well, I don't know.If that's really part of my training, then I guess I haven't reached that level yet
Anyway, what's with doctors that don't trust patients?
Is it true that all of those sick people lie to their doctors?
And how are they supposed to tell the truth if doctors don't believe them anyway?
In the episode "Tell me sweet lil lies", Meredith explored the issues of truth and lies..
Not just about lying patients, of course..
Well, she said the truth hurts.and that's why we lie..to other people..even to ourselves..
So she lied to herself that it's over between her and McDreamy..
She tried to lie to Cristina about that too, but of course Cristina being Cristina-she knew the truth..
But looking back, isn't omission of truth (and not just comission of lies) count as lying too?
McDreamy is the perfect example..He never told Meredith that he had (and still has) a wife..
Until she came dropping in out of the blue into the picture..
And then he lied again..by choosing his wife over Meredith..
Not that it's not a good thing for trying to save your marriage, but..if your heart really is set for someone else-why bother trying?
And hurt the two people you don't wanna hurt in the first place?
But of course, if McDreamy were to choose Meredith, that'll be the end of this..Happily ever after..
No more drama..
But truth is never that simple, is it?..
